Introduction to Film Development
Introduction to Film Development
Film development is the stage in which the latent image becomes visible for the first time. It is the moment when the image begins to take shape through the interaction of time, chemistry, and process.
In this workshop, participants learn to develop black-and-white film, from loading the film into the tank to receiving a finished negative ready for printing.
Independent film development creates a direct connection between what happened at the moment of exposure and the final result, allowing for a deeper understanding of exposure, contrast, and tonal range.
The workshop provides the foundation for independent work in the film development room.
